I agree with your in-line note on the need for definition alignment.  If
we're going to make this a meaningful policy that people will understand
as it relates to the operation of the groups, we need to be careful when
selecting terms.

I was pleased to see that it looks like you agree with most of the
suggested edits (pending the definition conundrum, of course).  I do
concede that you're right about my mistakenly inserting language related
to IPR in the LC discussion list section.  I agree it should be excised.

A more general note, though, is in regard to readability.  If the
audience for this policy is really the participant (and not the
participant's phalanx of legal eagles), I humbly suggest it be rewritten
in vernacular.  I believe we can accept the loss of precision,
especially if the definitions are well-aligned.

Basically, if it's written in a way that's not accessible, it won't be
read.  If it's not read, it won't be obeyed.  If it's not obeyed, people
may get bent out of shape when it's enforced.  People who are bent out
of shape have a regrettable habit of Tweeting a #fail.

If there's enough agreement (or lack of disagreement) with this
approach, I could take another whack at it.  Any other suggestions?
