Participants were polled about their interests regarding consumer identity topics, as well as the degree to which participants might be able to contribute to WG outputs. Topics of interest include strong authentication, mobile consumer devices, potential consumer use of various forms of smart cards, business value of high assurance digital identities for consumers, privacy aspects of consumer identity, US government's Open Identity initiative, user experience and customization of consumer identities, and consumer identity for electronic health records.  However, in order for the WG to produce meaningful outcomes that address these topics, it's become clear that a strict reliance on the contributions of volunteer participants will not sufficient.  The Chair is therefore exploring potential opportunities for funding and collaboration that can help support activities to address these topics and generate useful WG outputs.
